We provide fully stocked and always ready ambulances with equipment above and beyond what the USFS requirements call for. We staff only with Paramedics and EMTs that have come from working in the field and not just fresh out of school. We have progressive Medical Direction and our people make sure that if you can find a way to hurt yourself, they can find a way to help.
These are the same Paramedics that we send out in the ambulances with the exception that they have a longer history of working wildland. They are more likely to hike with the crew and they are more mobile and agile. They are working alone, so the fire crews become their back up and extra sets of hands. To get to work at this level you have to show some serious expertise above and beyond.
This is the EMT version without the Narcotics. It requires quick thinking, lots of time working in the wildland field and in a city with years of experience. You have to be able to do just about everything, and keep up while things may be getting weird. This is a job that you also have to earn with time and skill.
The question gets asked- Why would you want to run a wildland EMS company? Usually followed with one of several questions- Are you stupid? Are you crazy? Aren't there a lot of people doing that already?

The question gets asked- Why would you want to run a wildland EMS company? Usually followed with one of several questions- Are you stupid? Are you crazy? Aren't there a lot of people doing that already?
The answer is a little bit of yes to all of the above. Yes, maybe we are a little stupid, maybe a little crazy, maybe there a a bunch of people doing this. You can also make some relatively easy leaps of logic that we have looked into how people are treated, how they are paid and how you can make the experience of working with people not feel like working for them. We believe there is room for higher quality in the EMS contracting space and we see a way to be a part of that.
We provide the right gear and dont skimp on quality or quantity of equipment. We ask for feedback and take suggestions for improvements because we know if you listen, thats when you get the best ideas. We are not afraid of change and we know how to make decisions under pressure.
So that will either make a lot of sense or none at all to you. Either way, we go forward, working with amazing people, watching them grow, and keep learning all the things we don't know that we don't know along the way.
The next question always seems to be-
"Where are you located?"
We are located dead center in the heart of Washington State next to Leavenworth (the Bavarian tourist town, not the prison). We are a couple of hours from Seattle and a couple of hours from Spokane.
We are always looking for people with skills that fit into our mold of customer service and medical care. If your goal is to be a hero, or you think that you are the most important person at the fire, we aren't a place that you will fit. If you want to come out, do good work and leave people a little happier, you might be our kind of people.
If you would like to apply-
Email a resume
We look for people who live in the NW during the fire season due to the ability to be able to deploy on a quick basis. The idea of "I am just a flight away." does not work well with our access to airports.
